The MEF is a Company Limited By Guarantee and as a not-for-profit organization, it seeks support from strategic partners in the form of sponsorships and grants towards its annual calendar of events and activities. The finances are professionally managed in line with the principles of good governance; where the surpluses are utilised to sustain the objects of MEF.

It is a non-partisan (without party or political affiliation) in views and objectives; works closely with a broad range of corporate, government and non-governmental organisations, including foundations, think tanks, registered charities and civil society to achieve its mission.

MEF is governed by its Advisor and Patron as well as a Board of Trustees; and administered by an Executive Director.
